  • Description:   Reba Place Church is a congregation centered on Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God, rooted in an Anabaptist tradition, catholic in spirit, evangelical in conviction, charismatic in practice, antiracist in calling. We have been in south Evanston in the northern suburbs of Chicago since 1957. We began as an intentional Christian community and have evolved into an urban-suburban congregational church with a vital intentional community as one part of our life together. The wider Evanston community is aware of our work in community development, low-income housing, early childcare, and ministry to the aged and those with disabilities. We understand ourselves as a community trying to believe, teach, and obey everything that Jesus commanded.

    Founded:   1957
    Members/Covenanted Attendees:   135

History:   Reba Place Fellowship began in 1957 as an urban, intentional community. Rapid numerical growth in the seventies led to the formation of Reba Place Church as a broader entity including both communal and non-communal members.
