History:   After about 75 years as a rural Mennonite congregation on the edge of a growing urban area, Rowland Mennonite Church was reborn in 1904 as the Canton Mission. The Mennonite Board of Missions and charities supported the Mission until 1963 when the congregation became self-supporting. First Mennonite continues to proclaim Christ through worship, service, and its Lighthouse Ministries youth outreach programs.
